The tremendous far-reaching mission of the Cromwell Center – to ensure that all people, regardless of their disability, receive the respect, dignity and inclusion that they deserve – continues to be the centerpiece of an enduring legacy that truly lifts the human spirit. And all of us are forever thankful for the myriad educational programs initiated and championed by the Center.
- U.S. Senator Olympia J. Snowe

Mission and Theory of Change

The Cromwell Center for Disabilities Awareness was founded in 2003 to  help ensure that people with all kinds of disabilities - learning, emotional, behavioral, developmental, and physical - receive the same respect, acceptance, and opportunity that every person deserves.

The Center is an innovative leader in disability awareness training for students, educators, and in workplaces.  All programs use our unique Cromwell Method

We do not teach about particular disabilities, conduct “show and tell” or simulations, or focus on one kind of disability.  Instead, we change attitudes.

Learn from students and teachers about our work in schools by watching this short video.

"Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference."
